of his dependence on Him; of the insufficiency
of his own power and wisdom;
and that it is by God's power that he is upheld and provided for,
and that he needs God's wisdom to lead and guide him,
and His might to enable him to do what he ought to do for Him.
—Jonathan Edwards
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!"
-Philippians 2:5-8
Blessed Sabbath day to all of you!

Gorgeous photo Jen! Thank you for sharing beautiful photos and beautiful quotes and scriptures.
Miss Jen,
What a beautiful quote and perfect scripture!
Edwards said it so well, even in our sanctification we call on the Lord, we can do nothing without Him!! The apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit vividly describes our example.......the Lord Jesus Christ, who "made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant." This also reminds me of Jesus' words in Luke 9:23, where He states, " If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Thanks for your diligent effort in providing nourishing food for our minds and souls!
Erin,

Hope you are having a blessed Monday. ;)
M.L.,
I'm so glad you were edified and encouraged by the quote, as well!! Yes... doesn't Edwards have a way of putting things that pierce right to the heart?!
