This post is to encourage every woman who is walking with
Jesus and who is striving to glorify Him in her role as a godly woman!
I would like to heartily spur on every woman.... young and old
to never underestimate the impact of their
example on future generations!
Whether you are a birth mother or a spiritual mother to one or many.....
your calling is so significant and it's worth is unfathomable.
It has been a rich blessing in my life to have come in contact
with many women who have been such godly examples to me!
Doesn't scripture reassure us of this great truth that women
can have a profound impact on other women.......
"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."
-Titus 2:3-5
One of the most important Titus 2 relationships you
should have with a woman should be undoubtedly with your mother.
I have been blessed to have a strong, healthy, blessed and rich relationship with my mother, a relationship that has been open, truthful and most importantly Christ centered! This is in my opinion essential to a healthy Titus 2 relationship..... a open, truthful, Christ centered relationship! As young women we must be quick to listen, slow to speak and humble enough to admit our sin and be willing to respectively listen to our mothers who the Lord has given us!
I know personally that it can be hard to take correction... but we must be willing to take correction...if we want to grow..... "Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses
of an enemy are deceitful." ~ Proverbs 27:6
This being said, however,I understand that not all young women will ever have a strong Titus 2 bond with their mothers since we do still live in an fallen world..... where many young Christian ladies might have moms that have died or some might even have moms that are non believers! But please let this not keep you from the rich hope of finding a Titus 2 mentor who can be a spiritual woman after God's own heart.... for you! It is true that not all women are blessed to have children, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they wouldn't want to be a "spiritual mentor to a younger lady! How can a young women go about finding a "spiritual mentor?"
Seek out older women in your local Church to be your Titus 2 mentor or spiritual mother, you will be surprised at how many women will be willing to assume this wonderful role! The godly mentor you may find may be a seasoned woman in Christ who has never bore any earthly children, or a seasoned godly woman who has bore many and is in her Grandma stage of life!
Whatever stage of life she is in.... before you seek her out to assume
this awesome and important role....make sure she is a woman who is~
-fully devoted to Christ
-her heart is turned towards home
-she is a woman who sees her mission in life first to
serve Christ and then to serve others....
just as Christ washed the feet of His disciples
-she is a woman who submits joyfully to godly authority....
(husband, elders in the church etc... just as the Church
submits to Christ's Holy authority)
-make sure you know she is a woman who won't rely
on man's philosophies about life but rather will help you
to filter all questions about your life through the Word of God!

To those younger women who think they are not a Titus 2 influence or a spiritual sister to anyone.... let me assure you.... you are indeed! You might not be aware that anyone is watching you but let me tell you they just might be! It could be little Susie at Church who is only five or six years old..... who is watching you from a distance...... admiring your modesty, feminity and even your respectful attitude toward your parents! You can not even fathom what a huge impact you might be having upon such fair wee maidens.... by your example!
You can show them that.....
modesty is lovely, femininity is beautiful and
that respecting one's parents is something
that is to be asteemed!!!
To the many godly seasoned, older women out there.....
be assured of your noble calling in "training the younger women"
in what things are good! Please be aware that we need this
vision, hope and encouragement
from the ones who have gone before us and walked
paths that we have never walked
before for!.......And as scripture states....
"Where there is no vision, the people perish" -Proverbs 29:18
I'd like to thank all of the dear ladies....
in Church over the years and in the blog world
who have encouarged me in the ways of Titus 2!
May you continue to be a spiritual mother to many!!
You are a sweet blessing and dear to my heart.
And finally I dedicate this article to my dear mother....
who gave birth to me...
who has loved me...
and who has encouraged me greatly
in the ways of Christ and in the like manner of Titus 2!

WOW thank you so much for that post! Definatly was an encouragement :)
Great post! :) I've read something similar in a book by Elizabeth George, but I'm glad you wrote about it, too. It is encouraging! Love the pictures, too, especially the first one!
Great post! Needed that so much today. Feeling a bit down and old and not needed too much anymore here at home!!! Thanks for the encouraging words!!
Thank you Jenny for your thoughts, it is in such a stark contrast to the ideology "the world" has in mind for women, one that admittedly I myself held not that many years ago! It takes time to reshape ones thinking on this subject for sure, but with God's help, I'm well on my way!
Thank you so much for your sweet encouraging words! Sometimes I get "bogged" down in the everyday routine, tasks, troubles...it is so refreshing and peaceful to be reminded that my job is so important. And it inspires me to give my all to the life the Lord has blessed me with and called me to! Bless you, Miss Jen as you have been a blessing!
Wow, thank you for this lovely, well-written post Jen! It was a GREAT encouragement to me today!!!
*hugs*

Thank you Jen for this lovely reminder! I know that I have been greatly encouraged by the older women in my church and family who are such a wonderful example of godly women. I too would like to be this kind of woman who others can look up to! =:) I appreciated the encouraging reminder to keep on even when you "think" no one is watching and that no one looks up to you! =:)
Blessings!
~Rachel~
