Upon doing some summer reading in my latest
book "Womanly Dominion" I was inspired
by these true words by Mr.Chanski.....
"We must aggressively subdue and not passively loiter.... ....Basking in the satisfaction of a job well done, restfully praising the Lord for the work He's enabled our hands to do. The completed projects act as gratifying and comfortable footstools for our feet. We are able to say..... "That week of work was good, very good." (Genesis 1:31)
Whilst cleaning rooms yesterday, I was
thinking about the importance of doing
every chore, task, and duty with great
dignity, strength and neatness...
Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms
ironing shirts, drying dishes and folding clothes
should not be tasks we are trying
to get done quickly, sloppily or in a rush.
Rather think of each chore with delight...
think of yourself as a CEO of your home,
the President in residence of homemaking.
Create a presence of warmth, tidyness and
cleanliness in your home,
so... that others will feel welcome and
calmed when they enter your living quarters.
Whether you are in an apartment, condo,
cottage, farm house or exotic mansion,
you have the ability to create a clean
atmosphere .... sending a message to
your visitors that calms their soul,
and makes their hearts sing with
thankfulness.... And that, my dear, is
indeed a completed job well done.
cottage, farm house or exotic mansion,
you have the ability to create a clean
atmosphere .... sending a message to
your visitors that calms their soul,
and makes their hearts sing with
thankfulness.... And that, my dear, is
indeed a completed job well done.
I salute you dear HomemakingExecutives. Dominate and subdue
your living space with strength and dignity!!!

This is such an inspiring post! And it is so true! I think we do let the worldly cares get in the way and sometimes I find myself being overwhelmed with all there is to do! But, I do find joy in being the homemaker in the home and lately I have found myself slowing down and enjoying ironing or making a dress for my daughter. I find joy in being the woman God called me to be! Many happy Tuesday blessings to you!
Amen!
This post was SO wonderful, Miss Jen!!! Work really is so rewarding--if you'll just stop long enough to realize it. :)
May I ask where you find all of your beautiful photos to post? I just LOVE all the ladies in their beautiful dresses! I wish that we could go back to the time when (most) women relished the task of creating a happy home and of looking pretty for the family she loves~ Perhaps eventually, by setting the example, we can be a part of that world once again...
Hi Jen,
Great pictures for your post! Always nice to visit with you! :)
I'm looking at my dirth and messy house (I have three youngins) and am feeling overwhelmed and unmotivated. Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.
Oh I needed this post so much!
My housework has gotten away from me, and I was finding myself filling terribly out of sorts!
Thank you so much for sharing this!
I agree! Sometimes I think I'm being too hard on my kids to make sure they keep up with their rooms or fold the towels the right way, etc. BUT I need to remember to encourage them to do everything to the best of their ability and continue to do this myself. Love all the pictures!!!
I love the satisfaction of a job well done. Wish I could feel it more often!
Thanks!
I was thinking along the same lines as I did my house work yesterday. Your words and pictures are an inspiration and a reminder that we are doing the Lord's work when we care for our homes and family's. And, that salad in the post below this looks delish!
Ah, yes, I always thought I was strange for liking housework until I realized that it's a woman's calling and that if she has the right attitude towards it, it will not only make her a happier woman but her family and guests as well! :D Thank you for this inspiring post dear friend! It was excellent as usual!
Love and Hugs!

A lovely, inspiring post, Miss Jenn! Have a blessed day. :)
Very, very nice reminder! It's a shame that homemaking is no longer considered a worthwhile pastime in our society. What better way to serve the Lord, than quietly in our homes, doing the work at hand?
Love,
Marqueta
Oh, thank you so much for posting this! Too often I complain about doing chores, when I should rejoice in an opportunity to create a comfortable atmosphere for my family.
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!
Miss Eyebright
Such a beautiful post! You are such an encouragement!
Oh! Very uplifting! Glad I read this today :)!
Such a lovely post Jen dear! We've been doing "autumn cleaning", getting ready to decorate for fall in a few weeks, and though cleaning is not my favorite thing to do, I always thoroughly love stepping back after a hard day's cleaning and seeing the outcome! It is so rewarding!
Thanks Jen dear!!

I adore your wonderful outlook! What a great post & I am so happy to have found your blog.
This was so encouraging and insightful....it is a great reminder to be grateful for the opportunity we have each day to do all things for our Lord's glory and praise!
Love in Christ,
Mom
Dear Miss Jen,
Great post! It's always a pleasure visiting with you! :>)
Hey Jenny Marie,
I agree with this so very much and it is a good reminder. I remember years ago when folding a huge pile of laundry for our family including our 3 sons and feeling like I just wanted to get through it...my mother-in-law shared what she did when folding the clothes...She said she would think about each person she was folding for, she would picture them and pray for them and that made folding clothes really special. I have done that from then on and it has been a blessing to me. I love you,
Aunt Teresa
